Alkebulan Project Kick off | South Bronx Community Charter High School

On October 18, 2019 our 11th grade students engaged in a deep study of the history and culture of Alkebulan (Africa). The students were divided into four groups; where each group had to create a scaled map of one region of the continent. Their map had to include all of the country borders, capitals and population. At the end of the day, the groups brought their individual maps together to see if they fit (they did not). This kick-off launched us into a study of Alkebulan culture and creation of a children’s book.
